The Sims 4 can be installed via DVD as well as digital download. If you bought the DVD, you have the option to do so either way although I recommend installing through Download now. There have been so many patches now that have not been included on the DVD that you will need to download a large chunk anyways.
To register and activate the game, you’ll need an active Internet connection. This can be turned off as soon as you see the game in your Origin Client but you might need to turn it back on at the end of the installation process to activate the game on the computer you’ve installed it on.
There are different editions of Sims 4 and depending on what you bought, you get different content.
Install the Sims 2 normally from disc. Copy the files from inside the downloaded zip and folder to 'c: Program Files (x86) EA GAMES The Sims 2' and confirm to override the files already there. This will make the program not need to update anymore! Install expansion packs in no particular order. Enjoy playing the Sims 2! We hope you don’t run into any issues while playing The Sims 4, but in case you do, we’re here to help. Once The Sims 4 is done downloading, right click on the torrent and select “Open Containing Folder”. Double click inside The Sims 4 folder and run the “setup” application. Install the game. The latest patched version of The Sims 4 recommended. The most important thing is to have the same version of the game on all the players’ computers. There is one thing to note now regarding the mod version: S4MP versions 0.6.1 and later only work with The Sims 4 v1.68.154.1020 or later patches. Yes, if you have it connected to your origin account, you can then sign in, download and install it, and then select go offline and play it in offline mode on one of the computers, or when you sign.
It depends what you mean by “already used”. If you own the Sims 4 game and used it while installing the DVD copy, all you have to do, is download the Origin game launcher from Origin and log into your account from there. Then activate the game via.
The content of the DVD Box should be the same for everyone (except collectors edition)
The box does NOT contain.
If anything is missing from your box or the DVD already has scratches, I would take it back and exchange.
Make sure to keep your receipt to the end of your days.
These instructions are for installing the game from DVD. You could also just register your game, download it and put the DVD away. You’ll find more info about that here: Installation through Digital Download.
You will need an Internet connection for the following steps. You can turn off Internet once you reach Step 6.
The license allows you to install the Computer on up to 5 computers in the same household at the same time. Since it is a one-user-license you can only register it on one Origin account and only one person can play logged in at any given time.
It does not count as extra installation, f you need to reinstall the game on the same computer.
When reinstalling you don’t have to do the activating on Origin again. Log in with your account, choose your language and path and the game will install from DVD. It’s not necessary to be online for this.
After successfully installing the game, you’ll be prompted to go online to activate the computer on your computer (this has nothing to do with activating the game on your account). Put Origin back in online mode and click on Play. The game might need patching. The activation is then done automatically.
After this you can play offline.
See First Install for more details.
Unfortunately Origin usually shows Downloading although the game is installing from disc. Do not let this confuse you.
It is important to start the installation process from DVD and not by clicking Download on Origin. If you do that, the game will be downloaded despite you having the DVD in your drive.
There are several indications how to tell if the game is downloading or installing from disc.
If despite all Origin decided to download anyways, cancel by right-clicking on the game and choosing Cancel.
Then try again following these steps (you won’t need an active Internet connection since your game should now be activated)
In The Sims 4, create your own little humans, build their homes, get them jobs, and then torment them for the rest of their natural lives. Eventually, you’ll have whole neighbourhoods filled with your creations. It’s recommended that you have an Intel Core i5/AMD Athlon X4 and a GeForce GTX 650/Radeon HD 7870.
Can my computer run The Sims 4?
By Cliff Henjum June 24, 2019
The Sims franchise has been a powerhouse in the gaming world for almost 20 years now and it isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. The Sims 4 was even the best selling PC game of 2014 and 2015 and now has six complete expansion packs. Whether you want to build an epic neighborhood of beautiful houses or you just want to watch your Sims grow or you just want to create an endless maze of hedges for them to get lost in, The Sims 4 surely has something to keep you entertained. In order to play The Sims 4 on PC, you’ll need a computer that passes the minimum system requirements. This hopefully won’t be difficult for too many computers since the minimum system requirements for The Sims 4 are even lower than those for Minecraft.
Passing the minimum system requirements for a game typically means that your PC will be able to run the game at a playable framerate on at least Low settings. Accomplishing that is actually pretty easy when it comes to The Sims 4. There is even official support for on-board Intel GPUs as low as Intel GMA X4500! If you have a discrete GPU, you’ll only need a GeForce 6600 or a Radeon x1300. The GeForce 6600 is the 299th most powerful Nvida GPU and will only run about 30% of the games in existence currently, but thankfully for you, The Sims 4 is one of them. It’s a similar trend for the required CPU - only a Core 2 Duo E4300 or Athlon 64 X2 4000+ is needed to pass the minimum CPU test. This means that pretty much any modern desktop or laptop can get The Sims 4 up and running if you’re willing to turn down some graphics settings.
If you want to install ‘photorealistic mods’ and/or play with the graphics turned all the way up, then your PC needs to pass the recommended requirements in order to ensure a fun gameplay experience. As far as recommended requirements go, The Sims 4 has some pretty low requirements which is great news for fans of the franchise. Specifically, your computer only needs a GeForce GTX 650 alongside a Core i5-750 or Athlon X4. The initial install size is only about 10 GB, but you’ll need a lot more space than that if you plan on installing other expansion or game packs like The Sims 4: Island Living. A simple 4 GB of RAM is also needed, but that amount is very common in today’s PC gaming world.
